Ukulele Program
Grades 1 – 3 · Ukulele ensemble
An in-class ukulele ensemble where students play modern repertoire together — chords, rhythm, solfège, performance.

Students learn to play in a ukulele ensemble, performing modern repertoire while learning rudimentary rhythm, solfège and chords. They develop the confidence that comes from performing the music they love, and experience the positive effects of music collaboration. Students are encouraged to perform at school assemblies and community concerts. The chords and strumming carry straight over to guitar in Grade 4.

Ukulele Program runs well in these venues:

Junior Jammers
The first stage of the modern-band journey — singing in tune, keeping a beat, and making music together.

Guitar Program
The ukulele grows up: students move to guitar and play the songs they hear every day, together.

Modern Band Ensemble
A fifth stream of music education — alongside orchestra, jazz, marching band and chorus — built on the music students actually listen to.

Digital Music Production
Where students become authors: writing, recording and producing their own music on the tools the industry uses.
